Songs play backward and forward in my head.
Music turned up.
In the middle of a song i hear myself humming along
and my mind is wandering again.
I smile at the visiting thought of someone.
Wondering if someone is thinking of me.
The song continues to play,
pictures of other days and imagined moments flash through my head.
Silence...
and i have forgotten what the end of the song just said.
But I don't care,
because i can see the face of someone who isn't here.
My glance falls on the school in front of me.
I pick up my pencil,
take one last glance out the window,
and try to shut my daydreams away for a little while.
