Itsy Bitsy Me

Itsy Bitsy spider went up the water spout,

Down came the rain and washed the spider out,

Up came the sun and dried out all the rain,

and the Itsy Bitsy spider went up the spout again,

A little spider, God's own creation, perfectly formed by His holy hands.  Up that impossible water spout it climbs; up and up its delicate legs strain.  Until all at once the rain comes, big bursting drops of rain.  Gushing down that creaking water spout, spraying, drenching, drowning that poor determined spider.  Well despite the rain's interference this tenacious spider gets back up, still wet, half-drowned, and tries again.

This little spider can teach us so much about life, about being determined to keep working at something even when we get knocked down.  To keep trying when life throws hardships at us.  However the sun doesn't always dry up life's rain, and often we have to keep climbing our own water spout even while the water is rushing in torrents at us.
